I mean this is literally mod diversity and player choice that the mod system was lacking up to this point. Do you build for situational power which can be more than the consistent reliable methods but could also just be worse if you don't exploit their triggers enough? (but can be cheaper in terms of how deep you need to polarize your build for nearly the power)

Do you build for reliable power in the direction of umbral mods which are consistent in their bonsuses (and if you go all the way are stronger) So you're saying that, we now have situational mods that you now need to make an actual decision about using?!?!? The audacity of DE doing this. It would also help prevent endgame player burnout, which is exacerbated by new mods we can't use on our favourite frames. competing every nightwave, every 8 week Steel Path shop, rank 30 reward, etc) This would improve build variety for end game players immensely, provide more utility for this incredibly rare resource (I think maybe 30-40 total can possible have been earned by anyone. It should ½ the cost of any mod put in it, including umbra, but also anything else. I think the fix for this is easy: an Umbral forma'd mod slot should work like an Aura Forma. Y es, I realise that I can forma out that precious and rare Umbral polarity, but then I can never go back. I feel some of my favourite frames are kind of ruined because I invested Umbral forma in them. I don't want to apply umbra forma anymore, because doing so permanently limits my build to one's that use umbra forma. For instance I can't swap Umbral Intensify for Archon Intensify. An Umbral polarity can rule out using Archon mods - I can't put anything in that spot except umbra mods. However, now we have Archon mods, which in some circumstances, with some abilities, can be more powerful than Umbral mods. They're really the only way to maximise builds with Umbral mods, which were objectively the most powerful variants to use in most cases. For a while Umbra forma have been one of the most desired evergreen rewards in the game.
